New Neighbors Program
YWCA Duluth has been responding to the evolving needs of our community since 1893. We use data and lived experience to guide our efforts. Our 2025 community assessment highlighted a critical challenge — immigrant communities cannot fully participate in social, political, economic, and cultural life. This participation is essential for the vibrancy and resilience of Northeastern Minnesota.
In response, we partnered with Justice North and ESHARA to become a social service access hub and launched the New Neighbors Program in 2026. This initiative is supported by state funding. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of our New Neighbors. We believe in the power of collaboration and referrals.
Our Services Include:
Assistance with rent and utility bill payments, grocery gift cards, transportation, driving lessons, medical support, job programs and housing services.
Navigation support for access to essential services including public benefits, employment services, housing applications or school enrollment. We assist with research and applications until we find the right solutions for you!
Legal services are provided by Justice North. They will focus on a range of affirmative cases, including but not limited to:
Adjustment of Status (I-485)
Petitions to Remove Conditions on Residence (I-751)
Naturalization (N-400)
Employment Authorization (I-765)
Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (I-360)
T Visas (I-914)
U Visas (I-918)
VAWA Self Petitions (I-360)
Certificates of Citizenship for Children (N-600)
Replacement of lost, stolen or expiring documents (I-90 or I-765)
For intake inquiries, please contact Justice North at 877-696-5629
All of our services are free, confidential and holistic. We understand that challenges can arise that are not related to immigration status, and we are equipped to help you navigate those situations as well. Our commitment is to serve with understanding and care. We are here to provide social support so that you do not have to face these challenges alone. Our goal is to listen, assist and empower.
