Raising Voices Speaker Series - Floyd's Baller

  • Marshall School Auditorium 1215 Rice Lake Road Duluth, MN, 55811 United States (map)

Join us for the first of our Raising Voices Speaker Series! An event designed to amplify the voices of modern-day leaders who educate, organize, and inspire action, this evening is designed to engage community members in meaningful conversations around equity, belonging, and collective healing.

Floyd’s Baller offers a unique point of entry into these topics. Told through the imagined voice of George Floyd, the novel follows the true journey of his best friend Adarryl Hunter—his rise, his struggles, and the choices that shaped both their lives. Author Heather N. Wilde will share the importance of writing this book at this crucial time in our history and an emcee-led conversation and Q&A with Adarryl will offer deeper insight into the man behind the story. Music, hot bevvies on-the-house and connective activities before and after the discussion as well as new YWCA Duluth merchandise and Floyd’s Baller books available for purchase.

Tickets on sale December 29. Youth can attend for free.
