2020 Womxn of Distinction Virtual Gala NOVEMBER 14th, 2020 Cocktails and Crudités starting at 6:30 pm, Gala Event at 7:00 pm.

YWCA Duluth’s Women of Distinction Event recognizes and honors women who make significant contributions to our community. Hundreds participate each year to enjoy conversation, recognize the amazing contributions of these women, hear highlights of the YWCA’s community outreach, network with community colleagues, and donate to YWCA programs.

The YWCA mission is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. Annually, the YWCA honors “Womxn of Distinction” to publicly honor and recognize womxn from our community who have made significant contributions related to our mission. This year, we have changed the name of this event to be more inclusive. Advocacy groups and organizations have adopted the term “womxn” to reflect values of inclusivity and diverse perspectives. The term “womxn” was created to broaden the scope of womanhood by including “womxn-of-color,” “trans-womxn,” and other “womxnidentified” groups. The 18th Annual Womxn of Distinction Virtual Gala will be held on Saturday, November 14th. Cocktails and Crudités starting at 6:30 pm, Gala Event at 7:00 pm.

2019 Winners: ChaQuana McEntyre, Sarah Agaton Howes, Ivy Vainio, and Moira Villiard
